Hatchback pan roof owners I need your help....

Featured Replies

I have recently swapped my estate for a hatch and it has a pan roof which is lovely, however I need roof bars and don’t like Škoda’s OEM ones.

I was looking at the Thule Evo Wing bar in black however I am not sure if they are ok with a pan roof... I assume they are, but I want to make sure they don’t put pressure on the glass.

Thanks

Matt

As in will the glass hit it as it opens...?

Well that’s a goof point but I don’t think it will, my main question is where do the rubber feet sit, will they distribute the load just across the car body, or do they also put pressure on the glass?

Hmm hard to say, but I had a look at the website myself and it seems there's no option other than "normal roof" for any Mk3. I would send them an enquiry just in case but it sounds like they're not willing to give it the green light.

That was my concern, I am not sure on their definition of ‘normal roof’, but it doesn’t inspire confidence!

Scroll down a bit to a hatch with pan roof and bars

I did have a Megane with pan roof as a company car years ago and had Thule bars and footpack.  Thule site again said normal roof but it was also fin with pan roof
