IV se-l Vs sportline

Featured Replies

Starting to look again at new cars and about the £40k threshold for mega tax. I still like the idea of a iv to make use of cheaper running and a good stepping stone to full ev.

Up to now I had been looking at the sportline plus 190tsi as I really like the styling and spec it offers. So I had assumed that I would go with the same spec with the hybrid system. However, with DCC being the same ride height regardless of spec, how do the 2 trims compare? I'd be adding stuff like virtual cockpit and area view so what am I missing with the cheaper car?

I guess I asked the question at the wrong time.

Any answers from the weekend audience?

The SEL is still well equipped but has the executive rather than sporty look

Im debating the two models myself Slightly different reasons

The SEL has the 8” sat nav rather than the 9.2”. I actually prefer the 8” as it has proper buttons and zoom / scroll and volume knobs

i have a kodiaq with the 9.2” screen and virtual cockpit but the virtual cockpit seems to remove the quick menu for sat nav destinations via the steering wheel so I can’t cancel the sat nav without faffing with the touch screen or speaking to the assistant

So for me the SEL offers the right level of technology spec, but I am also drawn to the appearance of the sportline plus, especially now they’ve added race blue!

Agreed. The carbon bits in the cabin are real nice touches. Not too fussed about the buttons on the screen as I mainly use Android auto and control the volume at the wheel. A fully specced sel (VC, heated screen etc) comes in under the 40k tax bump so with both cars sporting DCC and the same power train they are probably on a par. Does the sportline plus have bigger brakes?

It kind of doesn't matter now though as I have almost made up my mind that I am going down the used TSI route. The depreciation on even a plug in would be too much so I am going to swap my oil burner in for a used 245 or sportline plus and get a full ev in 5-6 years when they are more mature.
