Retro rear view camera fitting in West Somerset

Featured Replies

I know this is being covered in another thread, but I thought I'd start a fresh thread about it for anyone who lives within striking distance of Weston Super Mare and wants a camera fitted.

After asking my local dealer (Carrs) for a price to fit a proper rear view camera and not being surprised when they quoted £549, I shopped around the area to see if anyone else could do the job. I couldn't find anyone who'd done this job before, but there were a couple who were willing to have a go. After reading here about coding problems, I was dubious about an independent doing the job, so whilst awaiting quotes, I put in a phone call to my ex daughter in law, whose partner owns a tuning shop in WSM to see if they could recommend someone for the job.

Dave, her partner and the owner said immediately that they could do it, although they'd never done this particular job before. Because of that, once again I was dubious, but the work was done yesterday and they did a cracking job.

They ordered the parts peculiar to my car by using the VIN number and my car was picked up yesterday morning and returned last night. This is not normal service, but I'm en route from his home to his work.

Everything works perfectly and I wouldn't know they'd been in my car. They said that panel removal was reasonably straightforward and coding was easy for them.

The price to normal customers would be £378. Now I know they view me as extended family, but you have my word that I do not have a vested interest in the company and I would never endorse them if they hadn't done a great job for me. My fears about possible damage and an inability to code the camera were completely unfounded. I would certainly return to them if I needed any similar work done in the future.
