I'm back!

Not that ye missed me much, had an 07 Octavia back around 2011, 2012. Sold it cos it was the 1.4 petrol, which wouldn't pull you out of bed, and were heading to france on a family holiday, so was terrified at the thoughts of trying to lug us and 100+bottles of wine around france with the engine screaming in protest.....

Traded it in for an 08 Santa Fe to do that journey in early 2013. Never really liked it - had to replace clutch and flywheel, aircon compressor after about 2 or 3 years, so after that investment decided to keep it as long as possible to get at least some sort of value out of it.

On Wednesday I placed the order for a brand new Octavia Combi "Soleil" 1.0tsi, one of the last few in Ireland before the next gen comes out here in September. Was limited in colors to black, silver or white - chose black. Should be collecting mid-end next week. So excited already. Have never had a brand new car before. Test drove the 1.0 on Tuesday and surprised at how responsive it was for a 1litre (115hp - the 1.4 i had was 75hp!). Everything seemed so familiar, even from 7 years ago.

It's good to be home!
