Connect auto radio

Featured Replies

Hello, I have a Skoda Fabia Van 1.4 tdi of 2003. I just buy a rádio to replace my non stock radio but I have some problems with it. The radio does not save the date/time and the saved stations when I turn off the car and remove the radio. The other problem is that randomly it activates the rear camera mode because somehow it thinks i'm in reverse. It happens while driving =/ do you know what wrong? What can I do?
Best regards

You need to reverse the red and yellow wires to fix the memory problem.

Thanks, how can reverse de cable? Need to cut the wire? It does not leave the connector

Yeah, just cut them and join them with some appropriate connectors.

I try connect it only the battery cables and the mass cable and it works. I Will try to get a iso male cable to connect with the car female iso to avoid cutting the original cable :)

It is possible to carefully remove the cable contacts from the plastic housing, and change them over. Can  be done with a large needle put in the correct place to collapse the contact tab.I would make a note somewhere in the car handbook  that you have done this. I am against cutting the loom  of the car unless a wire in the loom goes faulty.

Crazy talk, loom adaptors generally come with bullet connectors to allow reversing these two wires because it's so commonplace.

Thanks, I solve the problems buying a male iso connector and one female and made the connections the wire of those adapters. In this way I avoided cut the original wire :)

Obviously a reply from a Member who would be incapable of carrying out this operation.I cannot understand why this member insists on answering everybodies post even when he does not have a sensible solution. Perhaps he  doesn't have any friends,I wonder why!

Have you gone completely mad, I answered the OP originally and he's fixed the problem.

I'm not here to make friends, try the metalwork class down the hall.
