vodafone broadband

Any experiences ? good bad or indifferent. I'm with Plusnet, but contract renewal for 38M BB has jumped to more than a new customer would pay for 66M, so I think I;ll become a new customer  elsewhere and having a Vody PAYG ,I get 66M BB for less than Plusnet 38M. I could go to Virgin and get 100+ but I like having a landline, more than I don't like Virgin.

Hi,

Just did the same and moved from Plusnet to VF all worked very well, no issues.

I was already on 80/20 and speeds have stayed the same, I did find VF customer care answered much faster than PN

John

in Ireland, but my experience of vodafone for 10yrs now is.  ....

grand.

best value packages available we had 50mb bb that we always got above 35 with. we were fibre to cabinet and cabinet only 200m away.

now have 1gig fibre to the house, its good, but the routers arent as good strength wise as the older ones.

however, MIL lives atound the corner in the same estate and also with VF , same package as us, she ditched during the week as she has had constant hassle with the wifi dropping out and the landline not working. finally got sick them and is going AYCE data on her mobile and using that for hotspotting her tab for 1/2 /the monthly cost.

Vodafone is #2 for complaints

IMHE as long as you don't get a problem you'll be fine. But in general if you do get a problem the big boys are often rubbish at sorting things out.

Plusnet used to be a very good company, then BT bought them and they went downhill fast. I was a long standing cutomer of theirs and they made an absolute shambles of my housemove. If I hadn't had bigger issues at the time I'd have taken them to the ombudsman.

If you want to stick with Plusnet (because everything is working) you can ask to be put through to their disconnections team. Disconnections have more authority to authorised discounts etc than sales do. It used to work but more recently I've been told to take a hike by companies when I've asked for a discount to stay. Then I've left them.

If you want good performance and service you need to pay for it with someone like Zen. They're much better reated but in no way the cheapest.

Amazing what a bit of comparison does. I went down the jokey route" got your renewal and wondered if someone had mixed up months?" Renewal quote of £32 dropped rapidly to just over £24. I've never had any problems with PN apart from the renewal prices. Up and down load speeds constantly over that quoted. So for the slight increase over an unknown VF connection, I opted to stay.
