Hey guys I'm after the name of a radio in a mk2 Octavia. The model number is 1Z0035194a. I'm looking to retro fit this model in my vrs so any info of what I'd need I. Addition to the head unit would be great. I know itll need programmed. Thanks guys

Pretty sure that's a Skoda Nexus, also known as a MFD2.

 

They are pretty old and I don't think they've had a map update for a while.

 

You might need a new facia depending what headunit you currently have?

An MFD2 is not a Columbus...

 

A Columbus would be an RNS-510

I know the quoted number is an MFD2, every time I tried to copy the listing details it auto filled as a Columbus - so I surrendered.

I remember there was a nav-unit called Columbus, but I thought it was written on the front like the Stream etc.

BTW @Thej does it have to be Skoda original? I've gone for an Android 10.0 swap out unit ... depending on the functionality you're after you can spend as little as £80 - mine was twice that as I wanted DVD/CD and the ability to run the Waze nav-app.

Yes I've just got back on my proper PC and checked - as langers2k said NEXUS ... but the used prices are horrifying 😮
