I recently had stage 1 Quantum tune done by Yorkshire Remaps. I can't recommend them enough, Jason knows his stuff and the car now runs great. It didn't run badly or anything before though the version of egr software update it had done before I bought the car in 2018 was one of the worst. He swapped this for a more recent package so it doesn't regen as often for as long.

Standard my 2012 scout had 140bhp and 320nm torque. Its now 180bhp and 400nm

What about mpg?

Mpg slightly improved, sorry I wasn't finished posting the article before I dropped my phone and it posted it for me.

My average around town was around 52 but since having it done its now 55.I've not been anywhere on a motorway yet but will post my results when I do.

Nice! Quantum is a generic map used by lots of tuners mostly mobile I believe.

have you had it rolling roaded or just going off the quoted figures?

Hi Phil these are quoted figures, I'm booking a rolling road test in the near future.

What were they like price wise?

Looking for somewhere Yorkshire based for when I'm next in the UK visiting family.

Since remaps are so expensive in Germany.

£240, I wasn't too concerned with price I just wanted a decent map and quality service. No smoke and pulls lovely.

Dont pay any attention to the Maxidot figures, they would have been overoptimistic before the remap but now cannot be believed at all, the ECU thinks the engine is recieving less fuel than it is.

You must do successive brim to brim refuelling calculations to get the correct figure and if you had not done that beforehand then you have no baseline.

If it pulls well with no smoke and your brim to brim calcs are reasonable then you have had great value.

Sounds more like something a tuning box would do than a remap. My remap never changed how far out the MPG reading was (5% optimistic before and after). With a remap AFAIK the settings/values are changed, whereas the boxes trick the system which would cause the discrepancy.

All I know is he plugged into the obd point down in the driver foot well, took about an hour.

Thats a 'proper' remap then. Had my stage 1 Shark remap on for 180,000 miles and counting, must have done it right as its still on the original turbo and the clutch has done 160k:biggrin: still pumps out almost 57mpg avg too. Really hoping someone has thier tuning IP so I can get another one of their maps if i have to change cars.

Yeah a remap won't affect the MPG readout etc. A tuning box reports incorrect figures to the ECU to the readings are out. But a remap actually changes the values of fuel injection quantities and boost pressures etc. The ECU still receives the accurate information and still calculates the fuel consumption as accurately as before (usually a few % out but this can be adjusted).
