Front right fog light not working. What a pain! First few drives good though. Happy with feel, power etc  Nice inside etc

Did you get a warning on the dash to alert you to the failure?

 

It might not be related, but could it be the cornering fog lights? It has been known to confuse a few owners before who've noticed only one fog light illuminated when the headlights are on and the wheels turned.

 

Are the fog lights LED, unusual for these to fail so I wonder if its a wiring or software issue?

Only got warning light after I switched them on. I think they are led? I thought maybe just not been plugged in? Going to dealer Saturday too take a look. 

Interesting. The car should be constantly checking the status of the exterior lighting, and if it fails to receive a plausible signal from any of the bulbs (even if not turned on) then that would ordinarily trigger the on-dash warning.

 

This used to be relatively easy with incandescent bulbs as the system was able to simply measure resistance across each bulb holder. Presumably the way the system is monitored may well be different for LED's and their much lower levels of resistance?

 

LED lights units are normally sealed too, so instead of replacing individual LED's the whole light unit is simply swapped out. I wonder if turning the fog lights on for the first time was when the failure occurred - hence the immediate on-dash warning. You'd have hoped they were checked both at the factory and also during the dealers Pre-Delivery Inpsection (PDI).

Went to dealer today. Confirmed power is getting to light but not working so need to order replacement. This really should have been picked up before don't you think?

That's not good, as you say. Now that you've had it a couple of weeks, apart from the fault are you pleased with it?

Yeah, love it. Such a nice ride. I think even better than my Audi A4 I replaced and it's a car worth £10k less! Not sure about the lane departure. It goes off all the time when going over bus stops, passing parked cars etc but nothing that really bothers me. ICE is better than my Audi 10 speaker system that had a sub, but you would never have known! Wish more radio stations would broadcast their logo. Kiss/ Kisstory does and it looks cool.

I had a Superb Mk2 FL from 2014 - 2019 and I really enjoyed that but this is the first petrol engine I've had for about 10 years.

I'm looking forward to playing with all the tech!
