Furby vRS Brakes

Featured Replies

Done 4.5K and the brakes are crap.

Going through about three quarters of the pedal travel to have any major stopping power.

If I pump the pedal a couple of times first they are really responsive.

Anyone else having the same trouble?

In my bike racing days this usually meant air in the system or boiled fluid - could it be air in the system???

If pumping them brings them back, then I'd say air is quite likely. The other bet is a leaky master or slave cylinder. Either way, get it to your dealer yesterday, and get it sorted, before you end up with no brakes...

Ive found the same problem since i got the car... if you give the brakes short "stabs" they are immensely effective... but the pedal has a long travel when you try to be progressive with them.

Off to the dealers tonight to drop my car off - getting a Superb for tomorrow.

Post your comments on the Superb. Am interested in the PD130 version. Have found one for similar money to a Fabia vRS. That space is tempting, but so is the performance/fun of the Furby. Decisions, decisions..

(Oops - sorry for being off topic, but couldn't resist...)

I should be fitting my Brembo GT set up soon.

Let you know how much that improves things

We do do EBC discs and pads and DOT 5.1 fliud which does make a huge difference.

Personally I think my standard set up works well (has improved with new suspension set up though) so I'd say you have an underlying problem, more than likely air id say.

Superb is Superb!!!!

Massive car with a stupidly silly amount of rear leg room.

Doesn't feel big or heavy to drive but would be a pig to park without the sensors.

I've got the V6 but not sure what BHP it is though.

Only downside is lack of space between clutch and centre console which means with size 11 feet it is awkward to get your foot on the footrest.

Think it's a very nice good value car.

I was wondering if that's common to all RHD Skoda cars. I certainly find it very tight on my Fabia, and the width between the wall on the left and the left hand side of the clutch is only a cm or two more than the width of my foot :(

Didn't have that on my LHD Polo: acres of room on the left, but not as much on the right.

Room for the foot with the Octy is fine - loads of space in that.

Plenty of room in the Octy for my size 12's ;)

I'm a size 11 foot and I cant drive my Fabia with my work shoes on, I have to put my trainers on as I cant get my foot down the left hand side of the clutch.

I struggle to drive my furby (or at least get my foot down the left side of the clutch) with most of my trainers, my Mostro's are better as they are very narrow so I have taken to driving with them for now.
