Android Auto and Huawei P30 Pro

Featured Replies

I am trying to use android auto on my skoda superb 2016 but I can't figure out how to get it to work. I don't know if the problem is in my phone or the infotainment. If I connect using usb my phone shows up but when I select it the screen in the car is saying it is scanning through android auto and mirrorlink but does not find anything. The strange thing is that my phone says android auto is started. But I cant see any difference in the dash, as I suppose ther should be an android auto icon or some new functionallity ?

Does anyone have any suggestions. Will updating the infotainment make any difference ?

The usb cable is often the cause of strange behaviour. Try some other cables, especially the one that came with the phone as they a often of a better quality.

Might be to combination of Android (Google Services) and Huawei, unless the P30 is exempt from the ban.

Check you have a data USB cable and not just a charging cable. Could be the phone is connecting by BT but not able to access data?

It will probably be a combination of HU firmware, phone firmware & cable, it won't be anything to do with Huawei ban which only affects the latest phones which won't have Android (so no android auto).

My Google Nexus phone worked in the new shape MY 2017 VW Tiguan 100% of the time, my P20 pro was intermittent (60/40) with same vehicle, same leads. P20 Pro worked about the same amount of time in my old MY 2019 Karoq Sportline with same lead. Same phone (P20 pro) and lead works 100% of time in my  MY 2017 Octavia VRS!  Go figure...
