Faulty Tailgate

Featured Replies

I may have asked this question before.

However, the powered tailgate on my Superb Estate is playing up.

very occasionally it opens and shuts as normal.

But most times it just unlocks, rises an inch or so then stops.
I have to open it manually and it’s easier if I press the button on the fob at the same time.

The in car release doesn’t help.

The other key fob is the same.

I did mention it to the garage when I had the MOT done and they said if it was the struts they were £300 each.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

PS for many years I was opening and closing it several times a day in connection with my job.

I wonder if it might be the same problem as the one on the twin door - broken wires in the hinge area?

Thanks.

do you  know how I would  check that?

Almost certainly the struts.

If it is the struts, I’ll put up with it at that price
