New Owner - WLAN & Reverse park braking question

Featured Replies

I have just joined the forum after taking delivery of a 2021 model year Kamiq SE 95.

I wondered if somebody could answer some questions about it.

The first is that when you try to connect a second phone using Car Play, the WLAN turns itself off and you can’t turn it back on. You can access the WLAN menu, but clicking on the activate box won’t turn it back on. This means you can’t set up or use a CarPlay phone. The first time I did a factory reset of the system and it came back to life. Also I noticed the first time it happened the E Call button stopped working and the green light was off. It happened again when I tried to connect a second phone and now even resetting won’t enable me to switch on the WLAN. The connect services are working though.

Any ideas, seems like a software problem. I will phone Skoda tomorrow, but these forums often know more than the dealers.

The second question is about the auto braking when reversing and you don’t stop when the sensors goes red. The auto brake indicator on the display starts off orange and sometimes goes white, but soon goes grey again. Even if I manually turn it from orange to white, it doesn’t seem to have any affect when reversing. Am I missing something as it is on in the menu ?.

Thanks

According to the manual and menu options, it has something called manoeuvre braking ?. You can turn it on and off in the settings menu, is this something different ?

I'll take a photo later of the settings and display, maybe it is something which should not be active on my car but is in the menu anyway.

Thanks for your replies. This is the option in the menu and you can then also turn it on/off when the park distance is displayed in reverse gear.

Managed to get the WLAN on again, but only lasted a short while and it turned itself off and won’t turn on again.

I think manoeuvre braking only operates if you are, for example, reversing out of a parking space and the car sensors pick up a vehicle approaching from a blind spot.  There is an audible warning and the rear quarter from which the other vehicle is coming flashes red and your car brakes automatically.

I don't think it works if you are backing towards or moving towards an object, e.g. a bollard or wall, which is static and in your line of view; the car leaves the driver to do that.  It would be nice if the car did it though.
