UK Rear fog light convert to EU use

it’s more a question of brands saving some money here

it's more about safety, fogs are brighter than brakes -

when rear driver's eyes adapt to bright fog light then weaker brake light may go unnoticed

Prices with shipping are very high at this moment from UK. I prefer saving this money to improve something else

Though dedicated to country with RHD vehicles, this part is most probably not manufactured in UK. I think it comes from Czech Republic or some other low labor costs country from Eastern Europe.

The french Mk3 owner I was referring to, bought his RHD rear right fog light directly at his local dealer... ;)

How do you plan to move the steering wheel on the French side? 😛

By applying a turning moment to the rim using primarily the upper arm and shoulder muscles.

But that will be tomorrow, today in the UK I was doing exactly the same.

Hi. I’m new here so be gentle back. I saw your posts about rear fog light position on a Superb - but did you actually sort it ? I’m in France too and need to import a Superb later this year ( not chosen one yet ) - I know the registration/ import side ok - just don’t know how to sort the fog light. Any help much appreciated

Andy.

So for the mk3 superb there is no wiring for the second fog light on the U.K. spec cars.

You would need to do either of these 2 things to get it working:

Run a wire between the left and right cluster to daisy chain the light up and adjust the leuchte channel to general bulb instead of current monitoring (prevents bulb warning)

or the OE way of doing it would be to run a wire to the bcm and code the correct leuchte channel in place.

I have never got around to doing mine, it would take a very arsey CT tester to fail the vehicle, its visible from afar whatever side of the vehicle it is on, far more so than the tiny yellow led indicators on both ends of many modern vehicles styled by teenagers.

I had my Superb CT'd in France last week. It is a late 2019 model so it was its first CT here in France. (having been registered in France since 2020)

I didnt modfiy anything and the car passed the CT and no notes of the "rear fog" on wrong side noted.

The CT tester even fitted headlight deflector stickers for me, to pass the CT front lights test.

So the "do nothing option" worked.

I am in 86 Vienne

Good Luck
