Single tone horn

Featured Replies

Hi, so my first Skoda and purchased the Monte Carlo. Used the horn today and what a feeble tone. Previous car was a Ford Focus Titanium and this had a great horn.

Anyone else tried theirs and any ideas on how to improve the sound

I was thinking back and I'm pretty sure that I have never used the horn in any of my last three cars (Kamiq and two Yetis). I'll have to give it a go to see what it sounds like :)

Yes it's pretty disappointing. I don't think it would actually be useful in case of emergency.

The only emergency i know of that a Skoda needs a horn for is to let someone know you are there and the meter is running.

Does the horn really not make enough noise that those not in the car can hear it?

It's very faint and I guess an even better noise insulated car with a driver listening music wouldn't be alerted.

I will use mine to toot someone that I know & then bury my head in shame it sounds so pathetic :blush

The 2 previous Octavias had twin horns that did what was said on the tin.

I had a Golf (Mk6) before and I couldn't use the horn to greet people cause it was so damn loud :)

A nice wee parp is all pedestrians & cyclists need to let them know you are there without startling them,  and Van / HGV / Bus drivers could not care less if someone blares their horn at them.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the horn was s**te!

Not sure why Škoda decided to make the horn less dignified.
