Kamiq MY20 MIB3 Update
Some feedback after two weeks... - I re-enabled the Connect Service with the free 1-month trial and my map updated to 24.2, so that works again ! - I managed to enable Wireless Android Auto with ODBEleven by switching from "usb_only" to "On" for the google_android_auto option : And so far no more issue with the built-in navigation or the reverse camera. Overall I'm very satisfied.

Kamiq MY20 MIB3 Update
Dear @r0bb10 and @Lennart, I want to thank you for sharing your update stories ! Thanks to you I finally took the plunge and did the update tonight. I have a Kamiq MY21 that came with 0270. Tonight I flashed 0308 and then 0330. Even though I thought I was ready I was surprised by 4 things: You must extract the files at the root of an exFat formatted USB drive (I used a fast USB 3.0 SSD) (You should have /Data and /Meta) It takes a few seconds for the USB Media option to appear when you enter the engineering menu and start the update Once the update is complete you have to scroll down and confirm "resume" to reboot in normal mode (it was a bit confusing at first) With ODBEleven you need a Pro account to be able to run the SVM (Confirmation of installation change), I thought I could do it with the "Free" level just having purchased the HW (still cheaper than to have the garage do the update though...) Everything works as I had the 00071C00 SWAP already installed and active. I followed the instructions given in the TPI that matched my VIN from ErWIN (2063258/16), except I didn't use a battery charger like recommended. I left the engine running during the whole procedure. I hope it will solve some of the issues I had sometime : - GPS location was sometimes wrong for a few days... didn't bother me too much as I use Android Auto but still. (sometime it would be thousands of km away from my location !) - Reverse camera didn't always turn-on when putting the reverse gear (only happened rarely but always when I was in a hurry) - My map had stopped updating in July 2021 even though I still had the Online services active till August 2023 (I re-enabled them tonight with the free month, hoping to get a map update soon). I need to understand now why it looks like I still don't have Wireless Android Auto but otherwise I'm happy. Thank you again. PS: Here is a recording of the 0308 to 0330 update (I only started filming after starting the update but you can at least see the confirmation screen at the end with the "resume" option)

Kamiq MY20 MIB3 Update
Hi @r0bb10, Thank your for the insight. I just checked with ODBEleven and no update is detected for that component. I don't see any instructions in my TPI regarding the OCU, I will maybe get another "one hour plan" on ErWin to see if I missed something. Do you have the same HW number / version of the OCU ?

Kamiq MY20 MIB3 Update
Hi @r0bb10, I purchased an ODBEleven dongle to check my OCU version and to be able to clear the SVM error when I will (maybe) run the software update of the MIB. We talked about OCU in this thread before and checking my version I'm worried that it's very much out of date... See the attached screenshot. Any tips and info you may have to update it ? If not needed I wouldn't touch it though.

Kamiq MY20 MIB3 Update
Hopefully these are my last questions : @r0bb10 : Do I just leave the engine running during the update (should I worry about the star/stop ?) because the TPI instructs to use a battery charger, which I don't have and don't plan on purchasing. Regarding ODB, I see the most user friendly option seems to be ODBEleven, will I need any of the paid plans or credits to confirm the successful install or just owning the device is enough, or would you recommend another device ? Thanks !

Kamiq MY20 MIB3 Update
Thanks again, do I need an ODB to know which version of the OCU I'm on or is it written down somewhere in the MIB3 engineering menu ?

Kamiq MY20 MIB3 Update
Excellent, I also checked the TPI you linked and it says "The SWAP function For predictive navigation (FEC: 00071C00) has to be activated in Scala/Kamiq vehicles manufactured until 8 January 2020 (FEC: 00071C00)." My car is MY21 and was manufactured after that date. I need to read more about the OCU update. How do I check the current version I'm on ? I didn't see anything thing about the OCU when downloading the TPI for my VIN in ErWin. My TPI said, as you correctly mentioned said that I can go directly to 0308 and then 0324 (apparently 0330 was released in the mean time). There was nothing mentioned about the OCU. I don't like updating the OCU since your TPI says: "If the following procedure is not observed, the automatic call to the emergency line 112 may follow." (redirectly the crash signal to CAN instead of Emergency Call). I don't want the police to turn up cause I'm updating my car

Kamiq MY20 MIB3 Update
Thank you r0bb10 ! Great explanations ! What I'm trying to find out is what update actually breaks the navigation. I'm on 0270 and would like to update to the latest but I don't want to have to explain to my dealership that I fiddled with the software of my entertainment unit. @Lennart thought the issue was going from 0156 to 0276 but since I'm on 0270 I'm not sure I want to take the risk. Do you have any more information regarding this ? Thank you.

Update my car from 0156 to 0306
Thanks @vegarz for this information. It is difficult to find reliable information in the open Internet (some forums no longer accept registrations). Is the radio database a separate update file ? Would you have a name for me too lookup ? Also I saw in the TPI instructions that you have to keep your key close to the ignition button, did you also do that ? Do you do the update with a battery charger connected like recommended or do you leave the engine running ? Thanks !

Update my car from 0156 to 0306
When / how does the error shows up ? Is it an ODB thing only or does it show up on screen ?

Update my car from 0156 to 0306
Hi! According to the TPI for my car 2063258/16 I can go from 0270 to 0324 by going through 0308 first. So no need to go through the other version first. Quoting from the TPI (in German): • Bei verbauter SW314/320 ist eine Aktualisierung auf die SW324 durchzuführen. • Bei verbauter SW 270/276/278/302/304/306 muss zuerst eine Aktualisierung auf die SW308 und dann auf die SW324 erfolgen. Which translated gives : - If SW314/320 is installed, an update to SW324 must be carried out. - If SW 270/276/278/302/304/306 is installed, first update to SW308 and then to SW324. Good luck !

Update my car from 0156 to 0306
Hi ! I'm contemplating the possibility to "DIY" the update from 0270 to 0324 on my Kamiq. Would you know whether I'm likely to have issues ?

Wireless Android Auto on Scala - no internet
Thanks, so far I had tried: - Disabling the hotspot and starting the bluetooth pairing with Android Auto started on my phone - Pre-establishing the wifi connection to the car hotspot and then trying to join over bluetooth. Maybe I have better luck with the third method However I'm still confused whether it's possible the car doesn't support it... is it supported on all Kamiq MY21 with Amundsen (MIB3) ?

Wireless Android Auto on Scala - no internet
Thank you. Should I connect with my smartphone to the Hotspot before attempting the Android Wireless pairing ? Or is that done automatically ?

Wireless Android Auto on Scala - no internet
I've got exact same versions on my Kamiq and haven't been able to get Wireless Android Auto to work with my Galaxy S10e yet. I had a Galaxy S7 before and always used the cable. I've got now a second-hand, Galaxy S10e running Android 11 and was hoping to get it to work wirelessly. Do I have to run the WLAN Hotspot on the car and have my phone join it or is the Wireless Android Auto taking another communication path ?
