Help needed Cambelt and water pump change

Featured Replies

Good Morning and hello to everyone!

I have a Skoda Yeti that needs a cam belt change and new water pump. My mechanic says skoda does not do a cam belt kit and you have to buy everything seperately so its more expensive. The engine code is Cuua it a 2015 1,6 diesel.

Anyone else come across this?

Many thanks!

Can't find a Skoda kit but several of the major factors list kits: here's one from europarts.

Thanks! I do want genuine parts and not OE ones.

@Kratu  Welcome.

Call a Skoda or call into a Skoda Main Dealership parts desk and get a price and your mechanic can maybe get direct from TPS as the Dealership will.

He did look into and said they dont make a kit. Its all to be bought seperate. I am going to phone a dealer now. The problem is they will be more expensive from a dealer

@Kratu  The common issue i find is that many people assume that the Dealership parts will always be more expensive than others.

Well that is not always the case and sometimes the part is there, and there is an exchange price, and no messing about waiting for delivery of possibly the wrong part.

But without checking you never know.   I use a Local Motor Factor simply because if they do not have parts they can have them within 24 hours.

Got a quote from TDS and its 214.62 for all genuine parts, the 6 bits needed and a water pump.  There is no kit for this engine and I have to buy the 6 parts

Thanks for all your help!

Have a great day.

I believe in looking into all options. Thanks for advice.

Do you think Skoda make the belt, idler pully and water pump?
Get from an OEM manufacturer instead of being ripped off for exactly the same items.
