Engine Swap FABIA 2007 1.4i 16v (BXW)

Featured Replies

Hello to everyone, I just bought my fabia, and I was wondering, are there any engines that are "plug and play" for the fabia 5J? I was looking for a small engine with a bit more horsepower. Like the 1.2 TSI. Can I just swap them without much modification?

Not really, you'll need the entire engine bay wiring loom together with the ECU then there'll be recoding to get all the different electronics talking to each other again.

Definitely more trouble than it's worth.

So how do you suggest to squeeze some power out of my Fabia? a turbocharger?

You can't, compression ratio is much too high.

You're stuck with it so make the most of the car by sorting out the handling and brakes, easiest way to make the car faster by far.

Do you know if at least the mounts are the same for the 1.2 TSI engine from another Fabia?

And the engine bay wiring loom is part of the main vehicle harness on a MK2 Fabia. From the rear lights to the front fogs it is all one piece.

The horror, that's even worse, out of the question unless you're building a competition car.

The juice just ain't worth the squeeze.
