0-60 Fabia v Pug & vts

Featured Replies

I know I should know better but......

I drove 10 miles tonight to fill up with the fabled BP Ultima as the W.O. and her Asda fuel card are away....

Whilst stood watching my beer tokens disappear I met an old mate with his not very standard Pug. 205 GTI 1.9

We got nattering . as you do.....

Ultimately, me him and his little brother with his tweaked vts had a play.

The outcome was, after driving all three cars each, and knowing the Pug has a 0-60 of around 6.5 and the vts possibly a tad quicker. my Fabia was substantially faster, by at least 0.5 secs than both.

This was standing starts, on private, dry , well surfaced roads.

By all of our (albeit not very accurate ) watches my Fabias' best was around 5.6 secs. with a smelly clutch, and tyres and esr on.

I know I should grow up, but I am well chuffed.

Btw, the vts is horrid, and the Pug sublime!!

I don't want to wee on your chips but 5.6 is just not possible in reality.

I would reckon that you had a 7 flat, and both your mate's had an off day and were struggling, and only managed 7.5s

Luv ya really mate. :D

Get away.:D

Been verified at 6.2;)

5.6 secs

5.6 seconds through the front wheels, with traction control on pulling 1315kg (plus you)

your having a larf mate

2nd gear, dump the clutch?

my Fabias' best was around 5.6 secs.

Oy Walkie, read the post properly.

I wasn't saying it was gospel, and it was posted tongue in cheek.

After all i should have known better, and it's too late now but I shouldn't have even done it!

We can't all afford navigator timepieces, and some of us have to grab the short moments of one-upmanship that we can when we have the chance.

So bugger off and let me be self-deluded until tomorrow at least.

It is my thread after all!

Sorry I'm struggling to believe it too... are you sure you had traction when your speedo hit the magic 60?

how unusual a my Fabia is fast thread.... next you will be telling me that you beat an M3 and he was trying......

Please read ALL of the thread Mr Moderator.

I was trying to 'inject' some lighthearted banter into a Bank Holiday Weekend.

If this is not allowed, please tell me so.

The basics of my posts are true.

As is my verified 0-60 time.

I have enjoyed my time on Briskoda, but I object to being told off by a faceless computer boffin whose child has grown up, and he can't control it.

I shan't be making any more posts and shall forthwith take my bat and ball home, and only lurk in future.

I think it is. As a Moderator aren't you meant to be setting the example and not winding things up. This isn't the first time you've done this.

Graham is a really sound bloke.

Graham is a really sensitive[/b'] bloke.
:iagree:

Eh ? It wasn't me. ;)

ive missed this forum - lol!

God. These new threads that keep popping up started by newbies reminds me of ME when I joined and all the banging I got from you lot.

tis not me that needs to get a life....;)

I think Graham has his rights to post what he did.

you should all gets lives . after all its a forum not life!

Well done all of you!! (That was sarcastic) I have been watching this thread and I just have to comment:

I have driven Graham's car and it is very quick. Sub 6 does not suprise me at all.

Calm down all of you and STOP getting het up at claimed figures. Its you lot that need to get a life not the guy that posted this thread :finger:

all the banging I got from you lot.

i can quite happily say i never got involved with banging you mil ;)

No - the rules explicitly state that "race-type" threads are not allowed.

Though this decision was mainly to stem the flow of threads which promoted road-racing, and also were somewhat formulaic (ie. someone makes claim, everyone dismisses claim, people are going out videoing their speedos, etc.)

I don't doubt Graham's claims (he doesn't seem the sort to fabricate/exaggerate such matters)...but I think we're digressing from the main point. WTF has he done to his car to get it to shift like that? :D

Rob.

WTF has he done to his car to get it to shift like that?

Just a slight engine tweak and a noisy exhaust pipe
