Heated steering wheel Fabia

Featured Replies

Hello guys,

Did anyone try to add heated steering wheel in Fabia III?
We have Fabia MY2019 and bought the new heated steering wheel from Octavia IV with button for Heated Steering wheel.

We did the wiring (same for Octavia III), change the steering column for Octavia III with heated steering wheel support and everything "works".

I did the coding for heated steering wheel in climatronic 08 (I was surprised, that the option is there) and in adaptations of gateway - unit in steering wheel, that there is button for "heated steering wheel".
I can see, that if I press the button for heated steering wheel, it is set to "ON", but no current is going to the heated part.
My friend tried it with ODIS and via test function the heated steering wheel is working (warms up as it should).

Will the power control/switching not still be getting controlled by the BCM, so maybe it also needs some coding changed?

Edit:- though if it actually gets its power while ODIS is running test function, then maybe I'm wrong as the wiring sounds like it is all there.

Yeah, that's strange.
There is not any coding available in BCM, only in climatronic and gateway (sub-module of MFSW) and while the heating is working via test function, I don't know, where the problem could be. I was thinking, that the problem could be in gateway or BCM, that it won't get the power to the steering wheel, because it is not normal feature.
I had this retrofitted to my Octavia pre-FL, which should also not support this function and it is working.
