How to connect to Skoda Connect with retrofitted MIB 2.5 on a MY2014 vRS / OR / How to enable performance gauges

Featured Replies

Hi Guys!
As the title says, I'd like to connect my phone to Skoda Connect App on my car. (I've seen somewhere that you can unlock performance gauges or widgets on the MIB display there. I might be wrong though.)
The previous owner retrofitted the car with a MIB 2.5 Columbus Unit from a facelifted Octavia. (Maybe the car originally had a lower level center display, I don't no.) I've tried to connect the car to the app via the VIN, but it told me my car hasn't got the feature.
What can I do? Can I unlock it via VCDS or do I have to go to the nearest Skoda Service Station?
If I don't have to do any of this, how can I enable the performance gauges seen on the facelifted vRS models' center displays?

All the help is appreciated!

Cheers,

Ghost

You can't unlock Skoda Connect function, because your car (VIN) is not in database, which means, that your car can't communicate (can't be registered)  with Skoda Connect server.

As far as I know, there is not possibility to add new VIN to the database.

About performance gauges - if the car had the performance gauges before, you should have it now too with SWaP/FeC restoration (it can be done the same way like component protection removal)

In other way, I think, that dealer can't activate this SWaP/FeC code for performance gauges.

And do you know, how to enable Skoda Connect? Because the activation cannot be done in the car (of course, you can see the icon, but can't register it), but somewhere else. You can't do this, like I wrote, right?

Absolutely it will not give you a right to use skoda connect and another online features because your vin not signed on the database, it will enable only offline features like navi, carplay,  tmc, performance monitor and so on
