Clearing "Service dues in X days?

Recommended Posts

When last I had my 2013 Fabia vRS serviced, the independent (non Skoda) service garage didn't reset the setting for when my next service is due.

As a result, every morning when I start up my car I get a message on the display saying that my "Next service is due in X days".

I believe that it is relatively easy to clear this message - how do I do this?

Hi e-Roottoot, very many thanks for a speedy reply.

I have no idea whether it is on Fixed or Variable servicing - how would I tell?

I looked at the link you provided and can see how one resets from the Service Menu but I am not sure how I can get to that menu?

How do the "four way flashers" come into it?

I get the impression that :

  • With the engine switched off, I should press and HOLD the 0.00 (right) button.
  • I should keep holding the 0.00 button and turn the ignition key to on.
  • The Display should read "Service Now!" - as it happens, it doesn't - YET!
  • I keep holding the 0.00 button and then press the MINUTE button for the clock set (is this the Left button?).
  • Let go of everything and the deed is done.

For what it is worth, it isn't actually telling me that a "Service is due NOW!", just in six days time.

Incidentally, the http://volkswagen.co.uk/owners/servicing/regimes doesn't work any longer.

Do it with the Wiper Stalk. The rocker switch is on the end, and there is a button on the bottom of the stalk.

This is where the settings are for the car.

If it was on Fixed servicing this works.

?

How long have you had the car and when was it serviced.

If it was on Fixed Servicing and ever reset at services it would be counting down days from 372 days and 9,400 miles every time.

You would have had to know where to look to see that though, until it appeared as it has now.

The car might still have been set on Variable so 24 months from 2 years back.

I tried the button underneath the right-hand wiper stalk.  It doesn't appear to do anything other that change the MFD display between "1" and "2" (history)?

So I looked on YouTube for Skoda Fabia Service Reset MK2 and got the following:

  • Close all vehicle doors and ensure the ignition is switched off.
  • Press and HOLD the 0.0 (right) button.
  • Keep holding the 0.0 button and turn the ignition key to on.
  • Release the 0.0 button.
  • Now press the Display Mode (left "folders") button.
  • Let go of everything and the deed is done.

I tried that and it didn't work - I suspect that there is more to it :(
