Users & Key Assignment, Personalisation

Featured Replies

Guys,

I have a Superb L&K Model 2021, and have no ability to connect my car (equipped with Bolero) to Skoda and have no Drivers account defined. Furthermore, I have no Personalization  menu option... :(

Did some had a similar issue and managed o bypass it? (maybe by using VCDS or OBDEleven)

Thanks in advance for any hint.

Coming a bit late to the party...

Picked up our Karoq 2 days ago.

As with others opted for the personalisation, mainly for seat settings as we have very different requirements, and the electric seat, once set up, is a joy.

I have got to the point where i have 2 keys set up (one for each of us).

The car correctly recognises which key is whose on unlocking.

Then the inconsistencies start. The system seems to go off on a wild goose chase if the current key is not the same one as was last used.

The seat doesnt move and the screen gets locked.

Eventually it seems to fail and presents the users screen.

At this point I have to manually change users / provide the correct pin and then all the settings get used. The seat moves and so forth.

I'm guessing this must be some sort of connectivity issue.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I gave up on this a long time ago. It just doesn't work and resets itself all the time. Great cars but there are many problems with the infotainment systems and support is awful, they keep pointing me towards the dealer who is not savvy enough.

Car companies are fast becoming tech companies and they needs to start providing proper tech support.

I'm just trying to achieve the key to user profile auto assignment. The car is a 2020 Superb iV, which is new for our family. Somehow once it worked some weeks ago, when I took my wife's key to drive the car, and the seat started to squeeze me. But this hasn't happened again.

One good thing, which seems to work, that if I press the selection button on the seat before I jump in, the seat moves to the programed position, without the need to keep the button pressed.

I will keep testing, maybe I find the way to accomplish the key auto assignment to the profile. I can imagine some confusion in the brains of the car when having both keys in the car while driving, since my wife often keeps the key in her purse.

Unfortunately this car is full of software bugs, Android app is trash, manual is not detailed. I don't think the next one will come from VW family.

Tests were successful.

After unlocking and starting the car, the correct profile had to be manually selected, then turning off and locking the car.
I'm not sure if had to repeat it again to make the car memorize the key assignment, but now it certainly remembers whose key is being used to unlock the car. The seat moves to the correct position after unlocking the car with the remote.
I'm not sure if keyless entry would trigger the automatic profile selection and adjustments. I'll still need to test that.

Been fighting with personalizing the Kodiaq keys for the last couple of weeks.

Worked fine when I got the car for like 3 weeks. I followed the process of setting up the user profile, selecting that when entering with the desired key, locking and unlocking the car. It used to recognize the profile and change the seat settings, etc. when entering.

Until one day it just stopped... no matter what I did - readding the profiles, factory setting reset, selecting the profiles and locking/unlocking the car a million times - it still defaults to the last used profile, regardless of which key is used. Works properly maybe 1/20 attempts completely randomly.

Also if I try selecting the profile manually it often goes into "Loading profile" status for ages, can't use the entertainment system until I restart it. One way to fix this is disabling the eSim, but that means all online features are lost...

Guess noone has been able to make this work reliably for more than a few weeks?

I gave up on this months ago, it doesn’t work. Buttons and fingers do. Pity. My life is better now I’ve accepted that Skoda make crappy software.
