Octavia MK1 4x4 off-road project

Featured Replies

I've recently come into a very cheap octavia MK1 4X4. My mates have just got into GreenLaning in there "real" 4x4's I've followed them into most of the lanes with 90% success and 10% frustration.

It's had the usual yaw rate issue and I've managed to track down some "new" parts very cheap from a car being broken.

I noticed that this Octavia 4X4 had a much higher ride height then mine. So mine must be on wrong/ lowered/ buggered springs.

A few questions.

What are the OEM spring specs?
Are there larger springs I can use from another car?
What is the largest tyre I can fit without modification?
The only spring spacers I can find are over £100 any cheaper options?

Thanks in advance, BIlly

I think Škoda have produced a couple of different types of 4x4 Octavias over the years .  There has been a standard hatch and estate with the 4x4 system and the Scout model which has more off road styling and a taller ride height.

Maybe a set of Scout springs would help.
