Parking maneuver unavailable

Featured Replies

I got this error two times after starting the car after one week. The error disappers and all the functions are(seem) normal.  Have you encounter this or do you have an idea what is the problem?

Thanks!

Do you have the parking assist gizmo that will park the car while you sit inside and just change gears and use the accelerator and brake?

If so it could be it's detected a fault in the parking sensors at the back or front of the car. If it was due to water getting into the connection, then it could dry out and cure itself. (When I drove my Golf through large puddles last year I got some similar fault warnings, but they disappeared once the car had dries out.)

@CJJE, yes, I have the parking system for lazies like me :)).

Last time, I washed the car more than one month ago, but then I went on some dirty terrain and I had the error that the sensor unpaired, which disappeard after some time. I'll try giving it a wash underneath. Thanks!

I have had that error two or three times now, car is about 6 weeks old - also lazy and have park assist though yet to use it. Can use car again same day and will not show any fault, then will show fault again in a few days. Thought it might be moisture on sensor. Will make  a note to see if it is worse after heavy dew or rain.

@Dyrnog, yes, exactly. If I restart the car in the same day or day after, at least from what I observed, the fault doesn't appear. I'll try a diagnose with OBDEleven

That would be interesting, if it is something as simple as dew or rain though I would have thought it would be a common fault especially in UK.

I had exactly the same issue when starting my car on cold mornings. It turned out that the battery had gone faulty and wasn't providing enough voltage.

The battery was replaced under warranty and I haven't had the issue since.

My car had to have a new battery at 2 weeks old. It had been standing since probably march until I bought it in august. If the battery goes completely flat it can write it off, as it will no longer take in a high charge rate and never fully charges again.. The AA guy who helped me when it would'nt start say there was a batch of faulty batteries around that time affecting Skoda, VW and audi cars with lots of such failures on new or almost new cars.

Absolutely fine since the battery was replaced.
