Back after a 5 year Hiatus... Trade in Question

Featured Replies

Hello!

After 5 / 6 years away I'm getting back into the VRS fold (Yey). Quick question on trading in and moral standings.. My trade in currently has a removeable towbar and I will be getting one fit to the VRS.... Question is, do I keep hold of the TowBall to use as a spare on the new one or shall I just stick it in the boot?

I am from Yorkshire, hence the tightness :)

Cheers

Alan

Without a doubt leave it in the car when you trade in. Get over your Yorkshire ways

What are you dragging?

Ha its really Hard, I really should just leave it, it'll be like saying goodbye to a child.

The smallest thing ill have on it is a bike rack. Biggest is a Caravan. Old before my time 😂

Haha. I assume its a different car so you cant remove the lot and install on the Octavia?!

I also block the roads with a caravan, however, it does get to 60mph relatively quickly!

Nice, I'm glad I'm not the only one. I have a Leon FR sports tourer at the moment and tend to eat through front tyres quickly in towing season. Hoping the 4WD mitigates that. I won't be afraid of some of the climbs on the North Yorkshire moors in the went now :)

4WD will be ideal. I'm very envious of that but not the type of fuel you'll be putting in it!

Are you going for a manual or DSG? If the latter, I'd be curious to know how it copes towing the van...
