Paint and paint code

Featured Replies

Just a quick question I need a touch up pen for my wheel which has a very slight Nick in it in the paintwork is the paint code inside the back of the wheel which has various numbers or is it on the bodywork a plait somewhere obviously the wheels silver I will probably go on the internet and get a touch up paint main dealers can be very expensive va or do you advise to go to the main dealer thanks guys

@Diljit

In your previous posts asking about Paint Codes there were links to the threads that showed what numbers were the code for the wheel colour.

?

Did you take a picture of the codes on the back of the wheel.

You can get the paint online, at a motor factor or at a dealership, purely up to you.

?

How much did the Dealership say the Paint for your car would be when they said the car was too new for it to be available?

Maybe it is cheaper when they have none,

than when they can be bothered their backside to get the paint.

@DiljitYou posted before that at the dealership the parts guy said they did not do that paint.

How did they know if they never knew the code / colour.

If you were told that they were lying anyway.

If they can not be bothered ask Skoda UK Customer Services to check with your VIN code and tell them the Dealership that could not help.

Like I said in previous uploads my local garage is **** but thank you for that I was just confused that there was no sticker but I will go to Skoda UK sorry this is my first VW Group vehicle I've been used to Vauxhall all my life if good while tapped into it all just finding my feet with the VW Group but thank you for the import plus I am very new to the forums which I do find helpful but I know I can be a bit annoying😏

The Build Stickers were always in the spare tyre well until people started reporting there was not.

Then the difficulty started in getting paint codes.  It is how things are, Skoda is 'Simply Clever' until they are just really simply simple.

Why not just stick up the name of the Dealership you have dealt with?

You never know but someone at Skoda or from that motor group might read this and decide to train their employees.

I will make sure that they see the thread.

What is the OEM number of the rim, and what colour is it?

For example, if it was a 6.5Jx16 ET46 rim it might have one of the following OEM numbers?

5E0601025B 8Z8

5E0601025C 8Z8

5E0601025H 8Z8

Notice, that the above three OEM numbers all have the same 8Z8 paint code, which is diamond silver.

The paint code is 8Z8 which is diamond silver.

There's a German seller on ebay who sells touch up paint, clear vanish, and spray cans.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/guujashop?_bkw=8Z8&_sop=15&rt=nc

Here's a cheaper option, but it's only for 15ml.

There's lots of other options on ebay.

8Z8 is a common paint code for VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda group alloy rims. I've seen it listed for OEM alloy rims on the Octavia MK3 and MK4 cars but not on earlier Octavia models.

L8Z8 might be the same colour as 8Z8, but I'm not sure. It might be worth searching for that paint code as well and then asking the seller if it is the same as 8Z8.

An ebay seller has confirmed to me that L8Z8 and 8Z8 are the same colour.
