How to change left side EU rear fog light to both sides?

Featured Replies

Hi, just moved here from Denmark. My rear fog light is on the “wrong” side. Anyone here who knows if is is possible with coding to have both the rear fog lights activated. My local Skoda dealer says that I have to have the complete lights replaced (quite expensive). I am hoping it is possible with coding. If so, anyone around Cambridge that can help, or can tell what code to use? The car is a Kodiaq VRS 2020.

Have a look at the side which does not light up: does it contain the “bulb”/LED in the section for fog light?  If not, coding won’t work.

Yep the clusters from the factory are different, so you'd need to swap the inner taillight without the light in it with one that does, with coding after.

There's no wiring for the other one either (I've had the boot lid cover off, only the side with the fog light has a wire to run it).  You'd need to run a wire across to the new cluster (wouldn't be hard).

The boot lid cover is a pain to get back on though.

Anyone who knows how to find a right side (LHD drive) rear fog light part no.?  I will try to change it myself!

However, if anyone knows if the light just is missing the wiring then please let me know :)

Surely you need the right side (RHD) light, don’t you?

Solved! - A good friend helped me :)
1. Bought a new fog light at skoda-parts.com (£147).

2. Bought a repair wire on ebay (£7)

3. Solded the wire onto wire of the working fog light and connected to the new light (the blue tool a must to get the wires out of the plug.

4. Plug had to be slightly modified.

5. Now fog light on both sides - without coding.
