Will the mk4 hatch fit dogs?

Featured Replies

I’m thinking of getting a mk4 hatch but we don’t know if it will fit my parents dogs.

One is medium and one is small.

if not then we’ll get the estate. Thanks!

I think it rather depends on whether you are putting them loose in the boot with a dog guard fitted over the back seats or are they going to be in travel crates / cages.

If it's the former then I would have thought yes, not a problem, if it's the latter then you'd need to check the dimensions or do what I did and take the crate along and see if it fits the one in the showroom. I have the estate I'm afraid so can only comment on that.

I have the hatch and my collie and small springador fit in the boot fine with a dog guard protecting the back seats.

The MK1 and MK2 Octavias that I have owned have had boots commodious enough for those dogs, so the MK4 will be ideal.

I’ve had a 6 stone greyhound happily in the back of my mk 3 no problems so mk 4 will be fine.
