Hi all - I've not been here in a while. Good news I guess - No issues with the car and the excitement of buying it has now worn off..!

 

I have a question that hopefully someone can answer -

Are there any options for a bicycle rack (thinking 3 or even 4 bikes!) of some sort on the car?  I haven't got a tow bar.  Also I don't want bikes on the roof as I think they will be too high and a nightmare to get up there and down again.

 

I fear it's going to be a disappointing answer.

Input your car reg and what it is you're looking for and hopefully there will be options.

They are a good, knowledgeable company and if you get stuck on their website, give them a ring, they're normally very helpful.

 

Bad news: I've just inputted a Kodiaq into their search facility and it tells me that it's not possible to fit a rear door fitting bike carrier to a Kodiaq.

For rear door mounted racks I always advice Saris Bones. And it fits the Kodiaq.

I just have a clip on tailgate rack.... rests on tailgate, and held in place by 4 straps that clip over the tailgate lip.

It works, it’s much cheaper than any roof system.

Up to 4 bikes on a tailgate? Be careful ! 

Full suspension, E bikes and cheap bikes are very heavy . You could end up with 4 bikes on the rack but with the tailgate 100 yards behind you.

 

Only ever put 2 on ... it said good for 4 but I think 2 is enough weight.

Thanks all.  I wish I'd added a tow bar now..  I have an Octavia (2001) - which i'd be happier adding stuff to - but obviously days out are more fun in the Kodiaq.
