Lock button on key fob doesn't work

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

The lock key on the key fob apparently stopped working. The open and boot buttons still work, so it's not a battery issue. Tried with my spare key, and the same problem occured. Had to manually lock the car with the keyblade. When turning the electronics up in the car I get a orange warning signal and message that says the car need to go the repairs (thats it, no explanation or error codes). I'm thinking it must be related to the key fob/central locking mechanism. Before this happened I got a low battery warning on the same day followed by the car turning complety off in order to save battery life. Could this be related somehow?

I've read on this forum that on the Fabia Mk2 it is a known issue that the key fob and the locking mechanism doesn't always play together well. The solution was to have the diodes retro-fitted on the locking system inside the door panels. An easy fix apperantly but I find it strange that the Mk3 has been born with a similar problem.

I still have the car under warranty so I will call Skoda tomorrow and update this thread with their potential solution or explanation for this issue.
