Control System For Exhaust.

Featured Replies

Just had a complete service on my recent purchase, the Fabia Greenline 1.2 diesel, all the oily bits, belts, water pump etc etc plus tyres and was looking forward to 12 months of reasonably cheap motoring. But to my dismay The orange engine warning light has appeared, which according to my handbook tells me, control system for exhaust, emergency programme selected, drive to nearest specialist garage, gently. Now here is my single question, what does the orange light actually mean, I smell a big bill from a Skoda dealer on the horizon. As usual, any help or advice will be most appreciated, thanks fellow Skoda owners.

It means your DPF is clogged.

Or a sensor has a problem, or the EGR does; or simply that they've failed to connect up everything properly while finishing off the jobs done.  Have a look around the engine bay, especially at the belt end, looking for dangling connectors.

Needs a diagnostic scan to determine the meaning of the fault light.

Have a look on here to see if there is a member local to you with VCDS, a software system that is ideal for this scanning. VCDS owners map – Google My Maps

Thanks for the reply's guys, much appreciated. On to it as we speak. Thank You.

Before you spend big bucks check the connections on air filter from  turbo system one of the most common faults is the seal  is not seated correctly and this happens many times after a service has been done,  turbo pressure leaks out, no noise but if pressure is down slightly engine management picks this up and sends a warning things are not quite right, might be other issues as mentioned by others quite true but check these first
