Radio stations change in totally random order?

Featured Replies

Hey all,

New skoda owner, sorry if this topic has come up before - I have checked but can't see anything similar. I've got a MY20 Karoq Sportline with a Columbus system and the way it changes radio stations is driving me bonkers - I'm trying to figure out if there is something wrong with my system or I've messed something up!

When in FM station mode (I assume its the same for DAB but I mostly use FM) I have the six 'favorite' stations set which appear in order on the Columbus main 'radio' screen. When I go to scroll through the stations - either by using the forward/back buttons on the audio controls on the steering wheel OR by using the big forward/back arrows on the screen above the favorites - it seemingly changes in a totally random order. It doesn't change to the next station of the preset favorites OR even to the next station in the main station list... but changes in an order I can't find any logic in.

For example, if I am on favorite #2 which is 101.1FM and I hit forward - I don't get taken to favorite #3, OR to the next station in the raw list which would be 101.9FM, but it goes to 87.4. Then 107.3. Then 102.4. etc etc etc

It's driving me a little crazy because to change stations I need to go to the radio screen and select the specific favorite or station - I can't just switch through while on the home screen or nav, etc. Even if it ignored the favorites and scrolled through the stations in frequency order I could live with - but totally randomly skipping through stations is just super odd.

I have tried resetting the favorites, no joy.

Is this a known issue with a fix? Or just something I'll need to learn to live with?

Thanks :)

How odd! With mine I can set the arrows for next station to either change to the next preset, or the next station in the alphabetic list.

However there is also a setting (for DAB stations at least) where if it loses signal it can change to 'a similar radio station'. However its definition of similar isn't the same as mine so I turned that option off rather than suddenly being treated to a radio station I didn't want to listen to!

If you go into settings from the radio page and change the option switching stations. That will change it from selecting your presets or from selecting station from the main station list.
I believe that is what you are after so it scrolls through your preset stations when you press the arrows.
