Seat Memory & New or Disconnected Battery

Featured Replies

Hi.... Does anyone know if when you need a new battery the seat memory settings would be lost...?

Similarly, could that happen when the battery is just disconnected..?

Thanks

To make sure the car remember all the electronic settings you can power the car via the OBD port at the same time.

Thanks, AG Falco

Thanks for the reply AGFalco.... So I assume that's the kind of thing a main dealer would do but what about a smaller garage or the AA if my battery needed to be replaced..?

The reason I ask is that it's taken me a year to find the right seat position so I'm now a bit paranoid about it being lost when in for servicing or in future if I get a flat battery.

Was not the case for me when I had my battery replaced, earlier this year, under warranty.

All settings remained, including the seat memory.

Don't assume, ask.

A good garage that does lots of batteries should have one / use one.

Did they use one then?

Went to Thredbo once from ACT.

Happy 2021.

I have no idea - the car was left with the Skoda Service centre for its 45k km service, and while it was there, they replaced the battery.
