Under bonnet relay”100” for radiator cooling fans, which one of the 2??

Featured Replies

Hello chaps and ladies also I’m sure.

Now the electrical gremlins after totally renewing the cars suspension.

Cooling fans are draining the battery.

Have ordered 1x 70amp relay”100” as I’m going to take apart and hair drier the what looks like bone dry under bonnet fuse box anyway.

Thought this the cheapest option 1st.

Will also replace one of the 2 engine temperature sensors-only changed 1 out a few months back.....

Only thing is there are 2x70amp relay

”100” which are side by side in the under bonnet fuse box.

Cannot find a correct schematic on the web for my 1Z5 CCZA 2010 Vrs Estate Tfsi.

Any help is always appreciated.

Thank You.

Why do you think one of these two '100' relays is controlling the radiator fans?

Hello Wino, geez you are like lightning!!

Been reading on net all day-forums etc (various Vag) and the 2 items that kept jumping out at me that seemed to solve this cooling fans issue going crazy ( plus the cheapest solution!) was that “100” relay and also the Engine Temperature sensor.

You may well remember you helped me out a coupe of months back with the location of the one I didn’t change that I certainly will be tomorrow.

Lockdown is great for tinkering with cars!

I don't think that either are directly involved on your car, as far as I can see.

Try the temperature sensor change alone; always best to only try one thing at a time, otherwise you never know what really worked.
