Skoda Kamiq SE L (Mirror dip in reverse)

Featured Replies

Hi! Sorry if this has been asked before but it is bugging me!!

So I have a Skoda Kamiq SE L (2020) model, and was told it has the "lower in reverse gear" option which I can also see in my infotainment system settings. This option is ticked on. After a while of not been able to get it to work I took it to my local skoda garage and they told me my car did not have the feature...

But if it didn't have the feature why is the option there to tick in the infotainment system?

Is the mirror control knob in the passenger side position?

In Karoqs (and I think other Skoda models as well) this feature only works if you have mirrors with a memory function in them to return them to the right setting. And Skoda only fit these if you have the electrically adjusted seats (unlike VW).

Can't see why you should have the option though in the settings menu.

Hi, yes it is in the L position. My partner has just got a new Seat Arona (lowest spec model) and to our surprise his car comes with the function with the option in the settings to turn it on and off like mine (he has manual adjusting seats too).

Oddly I can't check the heated door mirror option even though the car definatly comes with the function too and has the option on my mirror adjustment for it...🤔

Bit annoyed how I can't get the mirrors to work though.

In the first place, have you already set the tilt angle based on the instructions in the manual?

Yes I have tried this but where is the 'memory button' to set the positon so it goes down to that in reverse.

There isn't a memory button.

Have the mirrors set up as you like them. Make sure the mirror switch is in L (for UK cars). Put the car in reverse and then adjust the mirror for reversing.

If you have a memory mirror motor fitted, it should automatically re-adjust when you put it in a forward hear and set off. No need for a memory button 👍

I meant this set of instructions in the manual.

Hi. Have just tried this too multiple times and again it doesn't seem to go back to the original position - it just stays down even after getting to 25mph. I guess the SE L model doesn't come with that memory function. Just strange how the option is there to turn on and off in the infotainment. The "lower in reverse gear" is ticked.

Funnily enough when I took it into skoda service they couldn't get it to work either and when the car was returned that option had disappeared, only after a infotainment update it then re appeared as if they took it off for some reason.

Odd, possibly miscoded for some reason and they've reset it to the factory config.

If you ever have access to diagnostic equipment such as VCDS, check the measuring blocks for the passenger door controller. If it has a memory motor fitted, you'll have an X and Y value that change as the mirror moves.

If these values don't change or aren't there, then you don't have a memory motor and reverse dip won't work :(

As far as I can find out you must have memory electric drivers seat for it to work
