HELP my 52 plate octy VRs 1.8t epc engine and asr lights keep coming on car misfires and revs up and down wildly this happens from cold. However this also occurs radomly when vehicle is warm it then goes into limp home mode any ideas ? :confused: it's doing my head in if I turn the car off and restart then sometimes all the lights go off and it drives fine HELP it's really anoying

Sounds like you need to have the ECU stored codes read for a start. Have you got the new style coil packs?

MAF is ******ed. It hasn't failed, it is probably just coated in shït. Means that the engine only sees say 100g of air when there are really 200g, therefore it runs very lean. If it had failed completely the car goes into limp mode and runs very, very rich.

Mine had the symptoms you describe, in my case it turned out to be a split vacuum hose under the small plastic cover at the front of the engine. You could hear it hissing with the bonnet open at idle.
