What is crpmpouz.exe?

Featured Replies

While I was watching TV tonight my PC seems to have downloaded the file crpmpouz.exe which wants to connect to the internet but is rated as a moderate risk. The file, which is in C:WINDOWS\system32, is apparently a Microsoft one and is Version 1.0.0.0. I haven't a clue what it is, can't find any reference to it on a wide range of search engines, and so have blocked it for the time being. Does anyone know what it is/does?

Not good!

Make sure you have the latest definitions for AdAware etc and try an online scan from here

Dont know, but its not running on any of my home pc's.

Sounds like some form of "malware" which changes its executable image name to try and avoid googlers. Nothing from MS will be version 1.0.0.0 and not have a name which doesn't turn up in search engines :(

microsoft do a free adware search program now, its on their website, i've got it and it found 3 on my computer.

its called 'windows defender '

try it

it might pick it up
