which is the right socket!

Featured Replies

the oil and filter change on my dsg gearbox is up before to long, on my (2013 2.0 tdi 170bhp 4x4 superb) so i am looking at getting all the bits i will need.i have been reading up on how to tackle the job

but i just have a couple of questions if ok?

i read one of the old threads on this subject and it was really good the guy who put the thread up went into great detail backed up with pics nice one!

the dsg filter was excess-ed by taking the battery tray and air box off,but i have seen a way to do the job just by taking the air box off and getting the filter lid off by using a  vag 24mm dsg filter cup socket tool  and to me this looks to be the easier option.

first question there are two options for this tool a short one of (1001mm) and one of (1036mm) which one of these is the correct one for my car?

if the job is done this way am i right in thinking there will be no need for VCDS ?

thanks kev
