drivers door window winder mechanism .............

Featured Replies

Just cleared snow off my car, started it up, let the windows down then up and my window went BANG, as if someone had thrown a stone at it, now the motor runs (off the button) but the window is stuck at the top but just 1/2" shy of proper shut, luckily it seems not open to the elements

I will be buying from fleebay. Seen one in there 35 odd quid. I will tackle this myself. Might as well add some sound deadening to the door whilst at it.

Just wanna know in advance if superbs are riveted or bolts?

Drawings show bolts for mine 1Z0860505L

1Z0860505L Винт VAG Superb (2008 - 2015) купить бу по цене 12 BYN Z7469108 - iZAP24

The panel that holds the regulator is held in place with bolts. When mine went last year, I sourced the whole assembly from a motor factors for relatively sane money (I'd have to dig out the invoice to double check) and swapped the motor/guide rails onto the original carrier panel that was in my car. About an hour's work in total IIRC.

The most fiddly bit of the job is reinserting the plastic bushing that secures the glass onto the regulator mechanism. It's easy enough to push it too far and have it fall out behind the panel into the door and then you have to unbolt it and start all over again. Also beware that the lock needs to be unscrewed from the door to remove the carrier panel, as the lock attaches to that.

Thank you for that

I will be having the car fixed at a garage, it looks too fiddly for my temper...lol

what worries me (lol) is that ive never had any car window winder fail on any car ever yet heres a part neither VW nor Skoda can get (on total UK "back order") whilst copy/aftermarket parts are aplenty...............

i wonder why? is it a high fail item?

Mmm. Yes me Neither and ive been a cabbie for 20 years. I only bought this superb 6 months ago so hoping its as good my older cars. I see suspension is nice and easy, brakes etc. Twindoor boot has issues but ive sussed that all out. I bought vagcom as well.  Mines the 170 bhp which has crap mpg but only realised after buying it. Im scared of flywheel and clutch issues otherwise its a nice motor
