New Skoda Config Questions

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Been driving a company Superb for over 4 years now and I'm due an upgrade so configuring my new Skoda Superb SE Technology through my companies Car Configurator tool however I just had a few of qestions mainly regarding the Travel Assist package. I can't find a lot of information and the Skoda car configurator is next to useless when it comes to information on the options:

- I'm looking at the Travel Assist package (its given code PWG). Is it any good? Is there a full list of features that actually come with it? I've seen that it removes the blind spot detection option, so does the Travel Assist package come with the blind spot detection or is there just none available at all?

- I really like the sensors that go off when reversing out of a parking space if a car is approaching from the sides, does this come as standard or as part of a package?

- When selecting the Driver Assist package on my Company Configurator, it doesn't mention anything about the Virtual Cockpit in the options but I'm guessing that product code (PWG) includes it? The configurator still alows me to select it on top of the Travel Assist and doesn't remove when selecting the Travel Assist option (but its probably just my companys rubbish tool though!)

- Is Traffic Jam assist only for the DSG or does it work on the 6 Gear version too?

- Does the Traffic Sign recognition only work when using the onboard navigation or is it passive, ie works whether you are using the onboard nav or not?

- Is the the Travel Assist pack worth it or should configure things separately?

I think thats it for now. Thank you for your advice my most esteemed fellow Skoda drivers.

Dan

Urgh this all so confusing! I'm going for the Superb SE technology however:

- Does the Travel Assist Package come with Blind Spot detection (is that what side assist is and does that come with Travel Assist?)

- What package comes with the sensors that when reversing out of a parking space if a car is approaching from the sides it alerts you?

- Is Traffic Jam assist only for the DSG or does it work on the 6 Gear version too?

The blind spot detection is standard on the SE Tech. (Or was when I placed the order for my company car on 23rd December).

Travel assist has the Virtual cockpit, traffic sign recognition, predictive adaptive cruise control, adaptive lane assist and traffic jam assist

I considered this pack as I wanted the VC and traffic sign recognition but as I wasn't bothered about the rest couldn't justify the cost so I just went for VC in the end

I think traffic jam assist is for DSG only

Not sure about the other pack, could be area view

Thank you for your advice. The Blind Spot thing is confusing as I ahve seen it come as standard but then there is an option to add Blind Spot and Lane Assist....and this is then no longer an option when adding Travel Assist! Maybe beause Lane assist comes with Travel Assist! SO confusing... I think i will just go with the Travel Assist Pack and hope it comes with all the safety features. Would be a bit crazy to take away Blind Spot Detection
