ACC orange light on dash

Featured Replies

Went out today and the orange acc light has come on and as a result cant get the cruise control to work. Front assist still available.

car still in warranty as only 12 months old so not a major problem and i dont use cruise control much anyway. But just wondered if i am being thick and there is something i am missing. Did wash the car the other day but only a handwash with a hose not pressure washer. I have wiped the black cover below the skoda badge. Is there anything else i should try before booking it in?

Like you I have also have had an occasional problem. Found switching the engine off and on again clears it. (Why does this 30 year old advice still work?)

I am interested in the cause and a permanent solution. Car is due a service in March and still in warranty, will I get a proper answer or fobbed off?

I've had the same problem. Generally only when it's been raining for a while and is really wet out. As you say switching it off and on generally clears it (turning CC on while the engine is off helps). There's a few threads on here about it so quite a common issue. Some resolutions include changing the stalk but this seems like moisture in a sensor/connector to me. I'm going to reseat the wheel sensor connectors when I take the wheels off to paint the rusty disc hubs. Whether the dealer can fix it or not depends, like so much these days, on there being a fault code present.
