Yeti or Caddy?

So am looking at getting a Yeti

But also looking at a Caddy

Now with the rear seats either flat or removed, it's like a high floor van (as in its higher off the ground than the caddy)

The Caddy is an actual van, which is handy for some things less handy for others.

The Yeti is handy for some things, less handy for others.

Who has gone from a Caddy to Yeti? And the other way, Yeti to Caddy?

(Looking at the 1.6 in both vehicles)

Fitting seats in a Van is not as simple a matter as fitting seats and belts and has costs greater than the seats and seat belts,

the van is registered as a van, well light commercial / 2 seater.

Fitting seats requires the Insurance Provider being aware of the modification and agreeing to providing insurance.

Easiest is to buy a 'Caddy Life'  or a 'Caddy Maxi Life 'and remove the seats if you want to use as a Van.

Plenty available.

Even ones that were converted as a Wheel Chair Carrying vehicle with a ramp are not that expensive now.

Many will be over 5 years old and have been vehicles leased through Motability' so for 5 years rather than for 3.

As to a Yeti as a van, that is not uncommon. The Van version was available in Ireland, and a DIY is simple.

If the seats are not in at a UK MOT then the belts are not part of the MOT.

If looking at a 1.6TDI CR best check out the Emissions Fix.   The Caddy's were among the first done by VW in the UK because many were Lease or Fleet vehicles,

there were plenty drivers or owners buying used ones reporting adverse affects on the vehicle with the emission fix at the time.

Pictures are from the Yeti Commercial thread in the links above.
