  1. You should really be putting these questions to those who know their way around VCDS, Carista and OBD11; https://www.briskoda.net/forums/forum/23-diagnostics-amp-vcds/
  2. I have this unit, the latest maps I've been able to find are 2020. I bought the maps on an SD card, it loaded onto the internal HDD and was removed - I have 64gb of music in the sd slot.
  3. You could ask on the VCDS forum if anyone is close to your location who could assist with a scan of the car. My cluster experience was a retrofit upgrade, but if you have an issue with a cluster it's easier to simply get another used version and get it coded to the car - the keys get recoded as part of the process. You'll need to make a note of the cluster part number.
  4. I bought a highline cluster for £50 on ebay and spent another £50 having it coded to the car and the keys.
  5. One possible reason; there has to be a wire from the ECU to the steering controller, without this it won't work. Get googling, there's loads of info out there.

  7. Adopting a new DPF sensor can be done via VCDS, however I'd be wanting to run VAGDPF via Carista OBD dongle to see how blocked the DPF actually is, whether the car regens etc before I'd shell out on new parts.

  9. I had this with a Touran, there are YouTube videos showing how to break-in thru the door handle but I couldn't manage it - sadly after removing all the seats I had to trash the door car card to get the door open.
  10. How did you disable the airbag? I have this error on my Yeti and despite best efforts it won't clear.
  11. I have a 1.6tdi Yeti which had one injector 2 years ago which neither restored the lumpy idle, the economy nor the horrible diesel knock noise just off tickover under light load. I tried the injector deviation test on VCDS but it simply destroyed the tickover and made the car sound like it was running on 3 cylinders, I have since found out this doesn't work on SW version 8822. Next steps in the coming weeks are; log the injectors via VCDS over a few miles, clean out the ASV, and I find myself in agreement with @HeavyMetalRich in that I firmly believe a clogged lift pump in the tank may cause starvation issues.
  12. I was in Bishop's Castle, Clun, Craven Arms area yesterday, the area is stiff with Yetis!
  13. @J.R. GOAT? Vale46? Is that really you ??
  14. I put about a litre of DPF cleaner down the o2 sensor hole, it sits for 15 minutes before the engine needs to idle for another 15 mins. Smoke is a big grotty and smelly, but differential pressure was down afterwards so it did something.
  15. I had the OEM ECU software re-flashed as it had been previously bodged to keep the EGR closed, and remove limp mode error messages. The idea is to get the car to OEM and then judge whether an injector is required or not. So far, driving around town as usual the car is MUCH quieter, smoother, nicer to drive as I think the throttle response had been messed with, and average MPG readout has gone up a fair bit. VCDS injector logs next ...
  16. If you don't wrap across the whole roof effectively sealing the sunroof and its joints how will it help with the leaks?
  17. Petrol DSG's have a reputation for being fragile.
  18. Why not get the car, and have the roof wrapped in clear vinyl so you don't lose the pano roof effect?

    ecu trouble

Did you clear the error code after fitting the new sensor? A 2010 tdi is probably suffering with the usual problems of EGR, blocked DPF, blocked ASV that affects these cars. The glow plug light is the signal for many a wondrous and expensive problem !
  20. Probably not 100kg/s ... pesky autocorrect !
  21. My 1.6tdi Greenline is running really rough, and using a great deal of fuel, the diesel knock on acceleration is quite loud, and on a very light throttle load holding the car momentarily on the clutch the revs bounce from 500-1000rpm. I tried injection deviation quantity today on VCDS which didn't run properly, so I took the car for a short run and logged the inj deviation but the figures are confusing to me. Can anyone interpret please? If it helps, mass air figures showed the ECU was expecting a given figure, but in reality was receiving 100kg/s more. Injdeviationquantity.xlsx

  25. @ashabristol In my opinion yes, because the longer you drive the wider the type of driving, so the average will be more representative of your driving. If you're anything like me I'd be loving the better traction from a new clutch and driving like I'm 17 for a few weeks
