You only need to undo the bolts on one side, then it moves enough to get the lid off the airbox. Reminds me, I need to clean mine fairly soon too. :)

What is the difference in sound/performance if any compared to the green filter, as I agree, the green is a pain to clean with brace fitted?

can anyone say heat soak! :P

would be more interested if it had

a) Cold feed

B) heat shield/enclosed box

Graham, could be the same. Maybe alittle bit more noise, but I'm on a hot day you will probably be down on power as it will draw in hot air from the engine bay.

Some say cold feeds help others say just a panel filter works best.

Been covered on here a little while ago.

Cheers.

Cold feed has to be better& mine sounds well enough..:D

I will put up with the fuss of cleaning it then:thumbup:

I know, but I think my brace is slightly off kilter, the bolt holes in the brace don't line up with the shock tower, and you have to use a pry bar to hold it in place while fitting the bolts - pain in the backside job to do single handed.

Do you do the bolts up tight on the other side before trying to line the mounting up?

Nope, slacken them off on the driver's side before trying to fit them on the passenger side

My strut brace has the same problem, lots of swearing was involved with my last air filter clean, would be nice to have an easier set up but retain the heat shielding qualities, spose one of those enclosed carbon airbox things would be the best.

Its supposed to be loaded slightly, helps with the tightening of the bar.
