Dealers giving up franchises in 2021.

Featured Replies

My local Vauxhall Dealership who have been trading for 50 years is giving up their franchise at the end of March.

They will still have their KIA Franchise.

Take it to your nearest Peugeot dealer for a service not that is much to check on an EV apart from tyres and brakes.

^^^ That might come to pass with PSA Approved Repairers but currently it is not and Approved Repairers and Dealership are required for each of the PSA Brands.  Only the technicians trained to Service & Maintain the EV's can do PDI's and servicing repairs as there is high voltage checks to be carried out.

The KIA techs trained to work on EV's are obviously able to do the work but can not for the sake of the Vauxhall Warranty and unable to do Warranty work.

@Sad555

It was certainly reported in the past couple of years that Vauxhall was ending contracts with Dealerships with the aim of reducing franchised dealers.

I have not seen anywhere that there would be no Dealers entering into new agreements with Vauxhall.

There were some dealers being taken over by groups that were expending just last year.

Reminds me of our local country dealership of Skoda a few years ago.

VAG /Skoda put pressure on the small quality dealerships to stump up a  large chunk of their own  money, which many couldn't afford, , to have the dictated  sterile  eat your dinner off the floor Executive surroundings , which have no warmth or personality .Also took the automotive heart and loyalty out of a community.

Big and flashy not all ways beautiful.

Sad time in my opinion.

 and lost me as a loyal customer.

@e-RoottootCan't say it's unfortunate that the Fisken family are getting a kick, they're not really the nicest bunch of people.

It's a shame for the sales guys, some of them were ok.

@Aspman i would think leaving the Vauxhall Dealership Network is no real loss to them.

For Vauxhall owners the workshop will still be there and quite likely the AC Dealerships just 15 miles away.
