  1. He is going to be going oot. But not stepping off the gravy train just yet. First the First Minister will be hanging about until the next waste of space gets the gig. Then he carries on as a MSP until there will be an election and he does not stand or does stand & gets re-elected or not. I do not see any employers desperate to employ him so maybe off back to the charity sector where he might be of some use at opening doors for them, and he can put in some effort into that. Maybe filling bags at a food bank, or maybe just @ a supermarket or McDonalds
  2. This morning again on Radio 5 Live @ 'Wake Up to money', talking to Experts and Money Investment experts they repeat 'Electric Vehicles are very Expensive'. Well Very Expensive ones are Very Expensive and less expensive ones are less so. It is true they are a big expenditure, but not so much for the Businesses that are buying Very Expensive Vehicles or Leasing them anyway and can maybe run these Very Expensive vehicles more cheaply. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001yprz Last week the Money Expert that bought a Used Petrol MINI and said it might be 5 years before there were ones with double the range must have not been buying the used MINI at a MINI Showroom where they are taking orders on New MINI electrics. The bright Yellow ones are hard to miss. (Lovely wheels). The Cooper S Electrics are difficult to spot as what is electric and what is Petrol and the 'John Cooper Work' TRIM ones are just daft looking. ................ Today the 'Top sales guy' when i asked 'Is this just a JCW Trim (plastic fantastic) on the Big Battery More Powerful car' but with no Performance Gains over a Big Battery More Powerful dressed plainly? dithered and blustered and failed to say yes. Like we were playing the Yes No politician game and he had practiced.
  3. So the 1.0 TSI with VW508 00 / 509 00 0w20 FS IV oil can be on variable flexible servicing and 18,000-20,000 mile Oil & Filter service intervals. 24 months. Or every 4 1/2 months in your case. I would ask the Service Manager where ever you had the service done just what whoever changed it to 3,200 is playing at and where they came up with the guff you were told. ?? Did they actually use Long Life oil, so the VW508 00 /509 00. or even VW504 00 / 507 00, 5w 30 FS III or maybe 0w 30 FS III or something else? Like VW502 00 Not Long Life Oil.
  4. Going going not yet going. Staying until another SNP Leader so First Minister can be choosen. So yet again the SNP choose the First Minister. But maybe not if there is a vote about the SNP and confidence in them. a 'Vote of no confidence on the SNP' Talk of John Swinney MSP getting the gig is premature i hope. Long time Leader of the past years. Stephen Flynn MP has no seat in Holyrood so no idea why his name is being brought up as a possible First Minister. unless he wants to stand in a by-election if someone resigns a seat and he get a seat in Holyrood, voted into the parliament for starters.
  5. ^^^ That talks about England. But point taken, the Westminster Government does control what the devolved governments have in the way of money to spend and for local authorities to get. While Maintenance spending is cut, claims against councils and the appointed companies that maintain roads are big and expensive.
  6. Welcome to the forum. I doubt the Technician / Fitter can show were it is what Skoda recommend to set such a low Service Interval. The Garage / Technician should ( can) have set the Service Indicator @ 9,400 miles / 372 days. What an odd thing to do. Then it is annual. If that is only 3,200 miles covered in the year and a week then so be it. Strange to set it by what was done up to the service, or at less miles than a Fixed Service regime.
  7. Re the repeating thing. I am watching 'Fifth Gear Recharged', i do get feed up of VBH and the other telling people that if you fast charge it takes such and such time from 20-80%. People suck it in and might not understand they might be talking with a 100 kW or 100kW plus charger. Seldom are the vehicles they are discussing going to be doing anything like that on a 50 kW DC Charger.
  8. Great how Irish Citizens get to register to vote in UK Elections / Referendum but it does not work the other way. Really as far as it goes for nutters, extremists, racists and fascists there are loads of those in the political parties & in Governments either side of the Irish Sea.
  9. @Graham Butcher sorry my bad, i was left thinking that you were one of those sooked in by the article on potholes & EV,s being an issue. Page 182. My bad, sorry again.
  10. Got to love them. Ireland and politicians know how to 'Keep Control' rather than supposedly 'Taking back control'. They are able to twist the EU around their little part of an Island which is part of the British Isles but not part of Britain. Handy for any Sanction Breaking, a Neutral Country and not even part of NATO. the 51st State of America, EU light and gets away with taking the Pith right out of the UK. People in the UK like marches. For Palestine, for Independence, & in Northern Ireland & Scotland for William the Orange. Why should the people in the south of Ireland not have a march occasionally.
  11. I watch tool videos. Ones filmed by Lee & Geoff.
  12. @Lee Midday he is speaking to the press so us. I hope he is offski. 'What is your hurry, here is your hat', get out of Bute House you beaut. Time to move back to his own home in Broughty Ferry. Maybe if there has to be a Scottish Election he can stand in that constituency rather than where he has a seat now 90 miles away in Pollock. What a bunch there are in the SNP with a seat in Holyrood that might become the Leader and First Minister. If they were to run a one person business like Window Cleaning they could likely not buy a ladder, bucket & squeegee without it going Millions over budget and years behind delivery. The Former First Minister might have been useless when it came to procurement for publicly owned & paid for stuff, but at least someone in the house knew how to get stuff delivered to them personally from Party funds, donations etc. Allegedly.
  13. @Graham Butcher Do you mean Smaller Battery capacity rather than Low Power? I discussed EV,s on Orkney and not the battery size or power, it was you that talked about the short journeys. They have rather good PS/BHP/kW / Nm torque. PS. This morning with 100% i was 1.5 miles going to Tesco & was getting 6.7 miles to the kWh. Came back the 2 mile route and got 4.5 miles a kWh. Back home with 100% showing. I will plug in and see if really i defied science. EDIT. PPS. No i never, car was showing 100%. Plugged in to charge and it is at 99%. 30 mins on 3 pin cable, 1.3 kWh so 25 pence.
  14. Ireland are very welcoming and do accept people seeking asylum. They do have a diverse community. But the people arriving in Ireland from Northern Ireland or RofUK might have applied for asylum already in 'Safe Country' England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, as in the UK. They might be right in saying that the UK is not Safe as they might get put into some Detention Centre not fit for animals let alone Humans then forcibly put on a plane to Rwanda. Ireland now has many many citizens that managed to find a Grandparent that was Irish, born in Ireland. There are more and more doing that these days. The Irish Republic have a population lower than Scotland. Scotland wants and needs more immigrants and it is the Westminster Government that stops it from happening and they keep withdrawing leave to stay and work from people and families settled in Scotland / UK.
  15. UK MOT / Type Approval etc. 'Amber Indicators', nothing Yellow about them.
