JVC head unit question

Featured Replies

I've got a JVC KG-G502 head unit in my Fabia with an ISO adaptor and it works really well.

Today I have experimented by connecting it to my Ipod Mini using a twin RCA lead and an RCA/3.5mm jack plug adaptor into the line-in sockets on the back of the head unit (total cost

Sounds like a limitation of the way the line in works with the headunit. Bloke at work has an ipod connected to his Sony headunit through an interface that plugs into the cd changer port. Using this interface he can control all the ipod functions from the headunit, just one lead to plug into the base of the ipod. You can then put the ipod in the glovebox out of site, as an added benefit whilst connected the ipod charges so its ready to go once disconnected.

Thanks for that John, all in all not a bad solution for a fiver.

It works ok, I just can't get ear-bleeding volume.

and the other trouble is your using a teeny little amp to increase the volume which will be creating slight imperfections in the sound quality which are then being amplified again by the stereo.

a better solution is that s****y connector as it is also probably a pre-amp output so doesn't use the ickle tiny amp in the ipod :)
