Child car seats - kodiaq

Featured Replies

Hi all.  I’m sure the question has been asked to death, but I can’t find any threads that answer my specific query.

What model of kids car seat do people use to get 3 across on the middle row of a 7 seat Kodiaq?  My kids are 4,4 and 6.

I’m accepting that they won’t be isofix.  Graco do some slimline seats which I know will fit but are not so highly rated from a safety perspective.  Has anyone found an alternative brand to fit?

I’m not quite answering the whole question, but with 3 grown up kids and 5 grandchildren I’ve been through an awful lot of child seats over many years.

My current “stock” of seats caters for 2 to 9 year old as needed.

I haven’t needed 3 seats across at once, but these are some of the ones I have presently.

Big Recaro is Isofix.  I like Recaro.

The Halfords are non-Isofix. I chose them for lightness and easy of swapping from car to car.

They are secured with the normal seat belt.

The smallest one is suitable for our 2 year old and can be converted by removing the full harness when needed.

Whilst we don't have 3 kids so need 3 seats across we regularly have 2 kids & an adult across the middle row.  We went with Diono Radian 3XT as our requirement wasn't only a slim seat but a reasonably high weight limit.

Having said that the first gen XC90 we had was far better for 3 across than the Kodiaq with the way the seats are designed.
