Ford Fiesta - asthmatic interior fan

Featured Replies

Hi. Bit of an odd one I'm hoping has a simple fix!

Son has a 2009 Ford Fiesta. The interior fan has no oompf at all. I was expecting this to be a failed switch when he told me about it (I had a Fabia with that problem once) but the fan definitely moves at four distinct rate, but there's very little air flow.

Would a blocked pollen filter (assuming it has one) cause this? Because if it's a blocked interior duct then I don't fancy taking the dash out to look for the problem!

thanks all

Martin

The pollen filter and ducting would be the first thing I'd look at. I'd imagine if they were blocked it would restrict airflow. If that doesn't fix it, you could always search and/or join and post on here. https://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/forum/1-ford-fiesta-club/ I am a member of it (as a Fiesta owner) and find it useful and helpful.

Have a dig around for leaves in there too. That used to happen a lot in our minis.

You had to pull out the pollen filter then get your hand in and pull the bugger out. Used to confuse the hell out of SO when she would find me upside down in the oassenger seat of the cars

As above. Check the drain channel as they get blocked some times and allow the pollen filter to get wet. This then damn near stops air flow entirely depending on how wet it’s become.
